About me

I am a social anthropologist based at the University of Edinburgh, UK. My research interests are digital work, urban anthropology, displacement and migration, peace and conflict studies and the wider Middle East region, with a particular focus on Israel/Palestine. I have also worked as a journalist and continue to write for selected media outlets. During my time as a journalist, I served as correspondent for the Austrian daily newspaper Wiener Zeitung and the Sunday edition of the Swiss newspaper NZZ. I also worked as a freelance analyst for The New Humanitarian (formerly IRIN news), and published in other media such as Der Spiegel Online, OpenDemocracy, Christian Science Monitor, The Jerusalem Report, and Haaretz.
